Your Education

Your Schools

Your Union

For every student who has ever felt unimportant, we take action.

In our education system, students hold very little power. Far too often, our needs are ignored, our voices silenced, and our rights tread upon. So long have these conditions existed that we have all but given up on appropriate and equitable treatment, and even worse is the pervasive idea that any effort at challenging the status quo is futile, impossible, or wrong.

To be clear: We can do better. We must do better. And that change will not begin with our educators.

So we, the high school students of Canada have no choice but to look to one another for defence, for a means to hold our educators accountable and speak for those without a voice. We have formed the Canadian Secondary Students' Union, a representative body of student leaders tasked with safeguarding our schools and ensuring that each one functions in a just and equitable fasion.

Student Founded & Run

The CSSU was created by students and functions entirely by the actions of student Union members and our network will always be completely independent from the school system.

All Students Welcome

Every secondary student in Canada is fully eligable to join the CSSU, regardless of your interests, studies, grade, or political ideology. Dissenting views are always welcome!

Democracy Comes First

Under the regulations of the CSSU, every leader, every course of action, every step we take is decided upon by a democratic process, by the votes you will cast in favour of a better school system.

A Nationwide Effort

Functioning across Canada as a whole, we encourage students from every province/territory and ever school within to join our mission for a better school system.
